Pipes
Metal pipes from steel and nonferrous metals are produced mainly of round section, and also square, rectangular, oval, etc.; pig-iron and nonmetallic pipes (glass, asbestos-cement pipes, plastic, etc.) usually have round section.
On a way of manufacture steel pipes are subdivided on seamless (external diameter of 1-820 mm, special purpose - 1420 mm), pipes made of ingots and trumpet preparations by pressing or rolling, welded (external diameter of 8-1620 mm, special purpose - up to 2500 mm and more) from sheet and strip steel with preliminary forming on press or forming mills, cast (external diameter of 50-1000 mm), pipes received on pipe casting.
Steel pipes share on 6 classes:
Pipe of 1-st class - so-called standard and gas pipes, use when special requirements are not showed, for example at a construction of building woods, protections, support, for a lining of cables, irrigational systems, and also the located distribution and submission of gaseous and liquid substances.
Pipe of 2-nd class are applied in the main pipelines of high and low pressure to submission of gas, oil and water, petrochemical products, fuel, firm.
Pipe of 3-rd class – are used in the systems working under pressure and in conditions of high temperatures, for example in chemical and the food-processing industry, nuclear technics (technical equipment), in pipelines oil cracking, in furnaces, boilers, etc.
Pipe of 4-th class - are intended for investigation and operation of oil deposits, applied as boring, well casing and auxiliary.
Pipe of 5-th class - constructional - are used in manufacture of the transport equipment (an autostructure, car building, etc.), in steel designs (bridge cranes, masts, derricks, support), as elements of furniture, etc.
Pipe of 6-th class – are applied in mechanical engineering to manufacturing cylinders and pistons of pumps, rings of bearings, shaft and other details of machines, the tanks working under pressure. Distinguish steel pipes of small external diameter (up to 114 mm), average (114-480 mm) and big (480-2500 mm and are more).
